Star Trek Beyond Newsflash

Star Trek Beyond Trailer 2 has yet to beam across the galaxy. It seems Justin Lins fast and furious motorcycles, sexy aliens and bigger explosions is taking trekland by surprise..

The Beastie Boys track "Sabotage" is just the beginning of all out war! Will Star Trek Beyond reignite the philosophical trekkie fundamentals of Gene Roddenberry's Star Trek or cause utter chaos?

After the partial rehash of Star Wars, can Star Trek follow in Han Solo's footsteps and score big at the box office? The only hitch is William Shatner isn't in the movie. Its a real pity too because all we need is the Solo ending sending Grandpa Kirk off in style.

Visualize Admiral Kirk hamming it up with a stake through the heart as hes being jettisoned out an airlock, Hammer Horror style! Is less more? Was once enough? Is Galia or Uhura the most likely candidate to kill captain Kirk?

Live long and be prosperous, trekkers and trekkies.

I'd pay to see that.
Think the third movie will be a fast ride indeed.

Well Alex, based on Star Trek's 12th movie (STID) statistical data shows theres approx 75 days between Trailer1 and Trailer2. This means we have another full month of sweating it out before getting to see the next teaser trailer.

My take is you cannot compare the two. The old version is not the same as the new you have to look at it differently

It's funny how all these aliens end up being humanoid. I remember once only when they were not, they had a bunch of turtle/tortoise like animals which tunneled in rocks and were not carbon based critters, and with whom only Spock could communicate, but otherwise our imagination doesn't go past the ape form.

Well guys, God bless the creatures because they really are the backbone of Science Fiction.

I think the next Star Trek movie will be a hit. Nowadays, I guess aliens need to be sexy.

It sure is Chrys, Star Treks explorers and aliens appeal to our basic human desires. Try as we might to practise self denial and be rational, fans want more beautiful alien experiences. Its not perfect but its fundamentally good fun and because it is people love it.

It might not do as well, but Trek has been around longer and had far more successful movies.

I like the new movies. (Not a purist at all.) Looking forward to Beyond.

This movie looks pretty cool, but a Shatner cameo is long overdue Spacerguy.

A cameo would be awesome. We've loved the new series. (And the old.) We actually sat the kids down and had them watch the old series. They hated Next Generation because there was no Spock! Hah!

It's already been said, any Star Trek is better than no Star Trek.
I don't mind the flashy sets and cool aliens. It's what the federation is all about. It still annoys me they destroy the Enterprise again.

But to have Shatner guest appear, I'm not sure how they would do that. Yes, it would be cool. But how?
